Throwing Purls

The trial period for this blog is going to end tomorrow, and I don't think I'm keeping it. I just don't have an urge to blog right now. I will still be updating my flickr page if anyone's interested.

I hit the local thrift stores again and came home with these for 90 cents:



The booklet on the far right, put out by Bernat, was copyright in 1966 and yielded these:



I'm intrigued by the knitted dress and the fact that it has an actual pocket.

I had a whole weekend dedicated to knitting. It was incredibly lazy and decadant. I just zoned out in front of the TV, knitted and read. And napped.

Mariah is coming along. (I had to tune out the TV and concentrate on the intricate cabling.) And so did this:



Close up of the "sunshine on my shoulders shrug" I'm making for a friend, the same friend for whom I was going to make the Knit Picks alpaca cloud shawl. Needless to say she is probably only going to get the shrug. The yarn is Art Yarns Regal silk. The friend lives in Hawaii so it will be light enough for her to wear a lot. It feels very nice against the skin.
